twist on the death penalty (fiction sci fi)
ok there is this guy. he is sentenced to death and he is the first death row convict to be executed since the discovery of immortality. under the current law of the time the prisoner must be executed and then resurrected and turned free ... you died ... you severed your time ... really free no record ... new name if desired. But someone wants this prisoner dead. so much so they are arguing that this prisoner's sentence be reduced to life ( practically meaning death by old age)

Alien Invasion How.
Aliens won't come to earth in spaceships. In the near future the idea of UFO's would be considered absurd! As if the idea isn;t already unformly dismissed as aDULestent foolishness . Almost as absurd idea is that we are the only life and or intellegent life. what folly. So most people would agree that there are NO UFOs and THERE IS LIFE OUT THERE. So how will we and they ever link up? maybe never. but i doubt it.
How we will meet.
An advanced society , entity, individual, planet or whatever will have achieved the mathematical understanding of consciousness. and most likely have experienced things of all sorts beyond imagniation ie computer hacking
the high level design of taking over an alien race is this:
1) understand consciousness
1a) understand mathematics well enough to accomplish 1) above
2) begin to broadcast into space radioactive signals into space to hack and infect vulnerable systems
3) infect exploited system with automated consciousness.

You cannot run a computer virus on a screw driver or a stick and some pointing rocks.
You cannot implement artificial consciousnesses on TRS-80 or even the most sophisticated that currently exists.
But tomorrow there WILL BE!

hero (me) likes eating jalapeno peppers (blackened one side best way) with hot coffee and or with beer.
has commission in the cal nation guard. (comes into play in the story some how)
enemy agent (Janis Wesbadden) she takes copy of virus into the wild.
hero was tasked with wiping the system the virus first infected. he wipes the system but finds that does not remove the virus. all the while the escaped virus begins to mutate and infect other systems through out the world causing panic, chaos and anarchy.
alien virus infects 3d printer and begins to print out an army! The 3d printers are on the sea floor just east of the Hawaiian Islands in a rare earth metals mining operation. Very hightech very expensive very cloak and dagger.
the only way to stop this army is to hack into its communications system and figure out how to send it a self destruct signal that the hero discovers in the code of the original system.
along with others that work in and around the top secret military deep space comcenter.

I was getting my orders for tty travel step up. Angolneen came to my cube and said ,"Hey I need to fill out an RT30 form for you." so we went to her cube and she sat down and bumped her mouse to shut off the screen saver covering the screen in a Word doc. where the only thing I recognized was DOB: 20-APR . I said, "Do you know who's birthday that is? 20 April?". "Its Janis Wesbodden's" she said. I said, "Its Hitler's birthday too!" Laughter erupted from a cube farm inside the blue cube.
FIRST TRIP TO ALICE SPRINGS
WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENS IS ...
The initial virus attack was made by a society that was only 500 years older than our own. They were maybe only 1,000 years more advanced than we were. All of mankind was in a sink or swim situation. The funny thing about this sort of hack is that it is most likely to occur between two equally matched competitors. That is not to say that there is NO one great competitor out there that devours its opponents as easily as it breathes. These are not contest and uninteresting.
Day one at blue cube:
it had been two months. even my wife was becoming suspicious about what I did all dam day.
well finally my security clearance came through. so the two martini lunches at the fat cat had to come to an end. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF EVERY OPPORTUNITY enjoy first of all.I had to study the what one would describe as difficult a test to get ones learners permit at the special Olympics! One would fail this test repeatedly if one did not show the proper respect due to fat ass brain dead bureaucrats proctoring.
